3 Different Types Of Heating Options For Your Home
It is important to be able to keep your home warm when it is cold outside. If your home is not staying warm in the wintertime, it is time to upgrade your heating system. When you install a new heating system, there are multiple ways you can heat your home.
Heating Option #1: Heat Pumps
If you live somewhere where it tends to get cold in the winter but doesn't get a lot of snow, a heat pump can be a smart way to heat your home. With a heat pump, you will have a unit installed both inside your home and outside your home.
The outdoor portion of the heat pump is designed to pull ai thermal energy from the outside air. That thermal energy is pulled into the outside unit and is then pushed into the air that the inside unit intakes. The inside unit then takes the air and heats it up to the desired heating level before pumping the air through the home. The air is pumped through a duct and vent heating system.
The driving force behind a heat pump is solar energy.
Heating Option #2: Ductless Heating
Another heating option is to install a ductless heating system. With a ductless heating system, you are going to have an outdoor unit that will absorb thermal energy which is sent to the indoor units, very similar to a heat pump.
The main difference with a ductless heating system is that an individual unit is installed in each room where you want to get heat. The air is pumped into the desired room. If you have a large home, you may need multiple ductless heating systems.
This type of heating system allows you to individual heat rooms in your home, also known as zoned heating.
Heating Option #3: Solar Heating
Finally, you can install a solar heating system. A solar heating system works well as a supplemental heating system for a large home. With solar heating, you have to install some solar panels on your roof, and they store thermal energy. That thermal energy is combined with your existing heating system, allowing warm air to circulate through your home. It is an energy-efficient option that can decrease your heating costs over the long-term.
When it comes to ways to heat your home, a heat pump works well if you live somewhere that gets cold but not a lot of snow. A ductless heating system works well if you want to use zoned heating in your home. Solar heating can help supplement your main heating system and lower your long-term energy costs.
